Nigel first started his flute lesson in the Music Office at the age of 7. He was later chosen as one of the youngest flutists to participate in the Hong Kong Arts Festival concert with the Fires of London Drama group. After being awarded the Licentiate Performer's Diploma in Flute, he made himself active in a wide range of performances. He had made several CD and video recordings with the Music Office choir as well as Cantacore choir.

Nigel recently participated in Sir James Galway's International Flute Masterclass in Weggis (Switzerland) and played with the renowned flutists around the world.(Sir James Galway International Masterclass 2007)

He was interviewed by a TV programme for teenagers "ICU" on TVB Jade channel in 2007 and another programme "New Cultural Domain" on the same TV channel in the same year.

Nigel is an experienced flute teacher in Hong Kong after his study in the Hong Kong Institute of Education. His flute students gained remarkable results in the Royal School examinations (ABRSM) and in overseas competitions.(Awards and Achievement)

Nigel finished his music degree in the Chinese University of Hong Kong as Bachelor of Arts. With high compliments in music composition and electronic music by the professors in the Chinese University, he devoted himself also in musical arrangement. Nigel's recorder band and flute choir won numerous prizes in Music Festivals and Music Showcase organized by the EDB. In the Fund-raising programme in the Government House, his music arrangement for his unique flute choir received critical acclaim. Nigel's proficiency in flute playing as well as his enthusiasm in music was acknowledged by the invitation from TVB to play for a Christmas programme in 2004.

Nigel founded Syrinx Flute Choir in 2002 and the group has been performing actively, especially during Christmas.
